You Will Be Able To Sell Home Decor on Poshmark Starting May 30th

One of the most anticipated categories ever… HOME/DECOR!

Poshmark is finally delivering on a long promised market. Seriously I remember when I first heard of the rumored change and that was before Poshfest 2017! I thought for sure we would have had this major category addition a long time ago.

I am very happy though because this just opens up more avenues for us all to make some more money on the app. So let us discuss the details we have so far.

WHEN DOES IT LAUNCH?

MAY 30th 2019

Time to get prepped and start sourcing those in demand items! The first days should be amazing because the market won’t be saturated yet so get ahead by taking photos and making drafts for your items now.

What/Where you should source:

Time to start scouring the shelves of your local thrifts and TJMaxx! Look for instagram worthy, vintage, rare coffee table books, functional pieces like storage baskets, and of course anything from Anthropologie’s home line. There’s a whole world of possibilities out there with this category; hello books, candles, art, and more all waiting to be sold (and bought).

PROs & Cons:

  1. PRO - More stuff to sell = more money

  2. CON - Diverting from a fashion only site might not be what buyers want

  3. PRO - Less items getting tossed, yay for the planet!

  4. CON - SHIPPING will be harder with odd shapes and fragile decor

  5. PRO - It’s a market which means IF you DON’T want to see Home Decor on the app you don’t have to

  6. CON - Just like with stained clothes it’s going to be a whole new beast learning how to clean, repair, and photograph a whole new category

This change comes on the heels of Poshmark launching in Canada, I would even guess that HOME will launch the day before CANADA.

For my closet I am going to start scouring the shops near by to stock up and get ready to go head first into the new category. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below.
